For a good entrepreneurship ecosystem there is need for:
- A conducive culture
- Enabling policies and leadership
- Availability of appropriate finance
- Quality human capital
- Venture-friendly markets for products
- A range of institutional and infrastructural support
In addition Entrepreneurs need the following key competencies:-
- Be opportunity seeking
- Have a demand for efficiency and quality
- Be risk taking
- Have a persistant attitude
- Be committed to the work contract
Zimbabwe Agricultural Competitiveness Programme (ZIMACP)

- Youths should strive to produce competitive products
- Packaging and consistency in supply are key in ensuring that the product is competitive
- Youths should be aware of market requirements and standards
